BORONGAN CITY-The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Eastern Samar District Engineering Office (ESDEO) is working tirelessly to ensure the timely completion of phase one of the Taft District Hospital construction project in Eastern Samar as per the contract.

According to DPWH ESDEO Project Engineer Efren Balmes, Phase one of the hospital construction project includes concrete works, rebar works, masonry works, doors and windows installation, ceiling, painting, railing of the main stair, plumbing, electrical works, and other scope of work.

“The completion of Phase 1 of the hospital will provide a fully furnished ground floor of the building, which can already be utilized by the district hospital where the Emergency room, x-ray room, laboratory room, and pharmacy will be located,” said Engr. Balmes.

The project engineer has assured that they are committed to complete the project on time, and they are working tirelessly to ensure that the project is finished successfully and to ensure that it adheres to the standard quality and specifications.

The project has an appropriation of P20 million and the contract amount is P19,458,128.00.
Engr. Balmes mentioned that the project started on November 9, 2023, and is expected to expire on May 23, 2023. Currently, the actual accomplishment of the project stands at 39.99%, according to a report from DPWH Eastern Samar.

Meanwhile, District Engineer Domcelio Natividad said that the Taft District Hospital project is a crucial development for the people of Taft and nearby municipalities.
