ORMOC CITY-The driver of a colorum passenger van that figured in a vehicular accident in Hindang town, Leyte, last April 5 that killed two people and injured 20 passengers died on Saturday (April 8) while being treated at the Hilongos District Hospital.

Hindang chief of police Capt. Alfredo Quintan Jr. identified the driver as Ben Remitera Jr., 39, who was detained he was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide.

Remitera was admitted to the hospital at around 5 pm on April 7 after he complained of difficulties in breathing while inside the custodial facility of Hindang municipal station.
However, on Saturday at about 3:31 am, Remitera died in the hospital due to a stroke.
The cadaver of the victim was brought by his wife to their place in Calubian, Leyte.
