CATARMAN, Northern Samar-The construction of a new 2-storey standard office building of the Department of Public Works and Highways Northern Samar First DEO built within the compound of Area Equipment Service in Brgy. Macagtas, Catarman Northern Samar is nearing completion.

The project, with a total budget of P43.59-million, is divided into two phases. Phase 1, amounting to P 28.90 million, was funded under the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA 2021) and focused on the construction of the new office building (Phase 1). The scope of work included structural concrete works, micro piles, cement plastering, exterior masonry works, rough-in plumbing works, and rough-in electrical works. It was completed on August 8, 2022.

The second phase, amounting to P14.69-million, is funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA 2023). This phase entails the completion of remaining works, which include architectural finishes such as ceiling works, tile works, and painting works, as well as the installation of doors, windows, plumbing fixtures, and electrical works. The project is expected to be fully completed by the end of this year.

District Engineer Mario D. Villena expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the project.

“This is one of the significant projects of the district office, aiming to provide a comfortable and conducive working environment for employees, enabling us to deliver more efficient and better services to our clients,” said DE Villena.

With the imminent completion of the new office building, the Department of Public Works and Highways Northern Samar First DEO looks forward to enhancing its operations and continuing to serve the public with utmost dedication.
