TACLOBAN CITY-Authorities have filed murder and frustrated murder charges against three suspects for the shooting of a village chairman and wounding of another person in Pambujan, Northern Samar.

“We will strengthen our intelligence monitoring on the suspects before we launch manhunt operations once the warrants of arrest are issued by the Court,” said Colonel Alfredo Tadefa, acting director of Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO).

The suspects allegedly shot and killed Yolando Jarito, 58, inside his house in Barangay Cabab-toan, Pambujan town, on October 1.

Also wounded during the incident was his son, Yolando Jarito Jr., 27.
Tadefa said the three suspects were “positively identified” based on the testimony of an eyewitness and the evidence gathered during the investigation.

“Further, the investigation revealed that suspects are members of communist terrorist group operating under Special Partisan Unit (Sparu),” the police official said.
Meanwhile, Tadefa urged the public “to help the Northern Samar PNP with any information leading to the arrest of suspects.” (RONALD O. REYES)
