ORMOC CITY — Police arrested a 60-year-old tricycle driver who was listed as the top municipal most wanted person in Maria, Siquijor, for four counts of rape after more than three years in hiding.
Domingo Sacabin was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. on September 4 at the Ormoc Terminal in Barangay South, Ormoc City.
Sacabin, who has been residing in Baybay City with his live-in partner, was arrested by personnel of the Baybay City Police Station (CPS), in coordination with the Warrant Section of the Maria Police Station in Poblacion Norte, Maria, Siquijor, and Station 1 of the Ormoc CPS.
Police served him a warrant of arrest issued on January 25, 2023 for four counts of rape under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code.
The cases are covered by Criminal Case Nos. 2032, 2033, 2034 and 2035 filed before the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Seventh Judicial Region, Branch 46 in Larena, Siquijor.
The warrant was issued by the court’s presiding judge with no recommended bail.
Police said Sacabin remained at the Baybay CPS facility following his arrest for proper disposition and turnover to the appropriate authorities.
His arrest ended more than three years of efforts by police to locate him after the court issued the warrant in 2023.
