Catarman N. Samar — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a road in Barangay Macagtas, Catarman, Northern Samar, as part of the phased development of the Macagtas-Libjo Road.

The project involves the construction of an 834-meter road. It includes the construction of road shoulders, concrete drainage structures, stone masonry works, and other necessary earthworks to prepare and strengthen the road foundation.

The completed section forms part of the district’s long-term effort to establish a continuous road link between Barangay Macagtas and Barangay Libjo, providing a more direct and efficient route between the two communities. Once the full road connection is completed, it is expected to improve mobility and accessibility while also serving as a farm-to-market road, facilitating the transport of agricultural products to the local market.

With a project cost of P29.38 million, the project is expected to facilitate the movement of people and goods and support local socio-economic activities, contributing to improved access and livelihood opportunities for locals.
