Part of the Labor Day celebration

TACLOBAN CITY– At least 8,161 job vacancies were offered by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during the Labor Day celebration Monday (May 1).

The job fair was held at the Tacloban City Convention Center or astrodome that started at 8 am and ended at 5 pm.

Norma Rae Costimiano, the DOLE regional information officer, said that the job fair was open for all, especially those who are looking for better employment opportunities.
“It’s open for all regardless if you’re an undergraduate, as it will depend on the qualifications being sought by the participating employers,” she said.

“In the labor department, we encourage equal employment opportunities,” Costimiano added.

The job fair was participated by 67 business establishments which 59 involved local companies which have a combined job opening of 1, 419 with the remaining eight involving overseas corporations offering 6,742 employment.
