NSSDEO, Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, Northern Samar– Implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways(DPWH)-Northern Samar 2nd District Engineering Office (NSSDEO) headed by District Engineer Charlito S. Carlobos, the construction of the Mondragon-Silvino Lobos Road (Phase 5) has 94.84% work accomplishment as of January 31, 2023.

It is under contract with Monolithic Construction and Concrete Products Inc. and Solid M Construction on joint venture.

This P235M road project with a contract ID number 18II0053 is funded under the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process/Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (OPAPP/PAMANA) thru the General Appropriation Act (GAA) of Calendar Year 2018.

It has a total length of 3,358.50 meters of PCCP and construction of Suba Bridge measuring 81.40 meters. The project is under the direct supervision of Arturo Corocoto, Jr. as Project Engineer with Bryan Fortes as Materials Engineer.

By building this road, the remote town of Silvino Lobos previously separated from major road networks and growth centers of the province can now link to the neighboring municipalities not only to trade but on other socio-economic aspects that will benefit the local people.

“Nagpapasalamat kami lalo na kay Mayor Jarito, Gov. Ongchuan, Cong. Ong at sa DPWH dahil madali na ang aming pag-aangkat ng mga produktong pang-agrikultura. Malayong-malayo na ang pinagbago ng bayan ng Silvino kumpara noong unang panahon,” Antonio Sagonoy, a resident of Silvino Lobos.

Completion of the said project will ameliorate local governance, security; time travel will be hastened such that the separation of this once roadless municipality from contemporary things will then be a thing in the past.

Furthermore, this will pave the way for more projects which will elevate the living condition of the residents.
