TACLOBAN CITY — Residents and commuters in Tacloban City now have another transportation option as Maxim Rides & Food Delivery rolls out new fixed rates for its car services, with fares shown to passengers before booking.

Maxim said Tacloban is among four Philippine cities included in the expansion of its car services, along with Davao City, General Santos City and Tagbilaran City.

The service offers a Car 4-seater with a base fare of PHP 45 and a Car 6-seater starting at PHP 55.

The company said the service uses air-conditioned vehicles operated by legally operating driver-partners. Fares are calculated based on the shortest route and displayed before passengers confirm their bookings.

“The new rates give passengers more choices for getting around their cities at competitive prices,” said Andres Morales Jr., president of Maxim Rides & Food Delivery.

Maxim also said the service provides income opportunities for vehicle owners who want to become driver-partners. New driver-partners may fulfill orders with zero-percent commission, while rates for existing drivers are determined individually.

The company said the new service is intended to provide additional mobility options for Tacloban residents while creating earning opportunities for local drivers.
