ORMOC CITY-A job order worker reportedly assigned at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Southern Leyte yielded a large sachet containing white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu in a buy-bust operation conducted by the provincial drug enforcement unit of Southern Leyte police in Maasin City on Saturday (April 15).

The suspect, Oliver Maceda, 29, is listed as a high-value individual (HVI) and on the priority target list at the regional level.

Recovered from his possession in the sting operation in Barangay Asuncion at about 9:45 pm was one medium-sized plastic sachet containing the suspected shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P30,000.

Charges of violation of section 5 (selling) of Art II of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, were filed against the suspect who is now detained at the locked-up cell of Maasin city police office.
