ORMOC CITY-Four business establishments located in the downtown area of Calbayog City were razed down during an hour-long fire of still unknown origin on Wednesday (Jan.4).
Calbayog Fire Marshal Fire Senior Inspector Jimmy Pasague said that the burned establishments include convenience stores, a fruit stand, and a variety store.

The fire officer said that based on their investigation the fire broke out in a convenience store owned by Mira Mae Singzon at past 7 pm.

Quoting Singzon, Pasague said that the fire originated at the altar of her store which spread quickly to its nearby stores which were all made of light materials.

The fire was totally put out by 8:22 pm. No injury was reported from the incident which had a damage cost of P430,000.(ROBERT DEJON)
