TACLOBAN CITY — A graduate of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), this city, has brought pride to the region after securing a spot among the top notchers in the March 2026 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination.
Lee Justin Pasadas Rondina, who completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at EVSU Main Campus, ranked ninth nationwide with a rating of 91.40 percent, based on results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on April 7.
Rondina said the recognition came as a surprise, admitting he initially doubted his performance after taking the exam.
“Honestly, it all still feels so surreal. The moment I saw my name on the list of top notchers, I could hardly believe my eyes,” he shared.
He recalled that the examination was particularly challenging, leading him to believe he might not have made it.
“The exam was far from easy. I left the testing center convinced I had fallen short. Never did I expect that all the hard work and sleepless nights would bring me this far,” he added.
Despite his doubts, Rondina expressed gratitude for the achievement, describing it as both humbling and rewarding.
Alongside his accomplishment, EVSU also posted a solid overall performance, producing 84 new civil engineers and recording a 54.19 percent passing rate—significantly higher than the national average of 35.05 percent.
University officials congratulated Rondina and the new passers, highlighting their success as a reflection of dedication, resilience, and the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
