ORMOC CITY– About 11 houses, mostly made of light materials, were gutted down in a fire incident in Barangay Banun-anan, Catbalogan City on Friday (Sept.8) at about 1:20 pm.

Fire 0fficer 2 Brando Nicole Garduce, the duty investigator of Catbalogan Fire Station, told local media that the fire started at the house of one Marilou Villa Langcoyan.

He said that because most of the houses were made of light materials, the fire quickly spread in the area leaving 11 houses turned to ashes including a chapel building.

The fire was controlled at about 2: 33 pm and was declared totally out at about 2: 45 pm. No one was reported injured from the fire with an estimated damage of P850,000.
