TACLOBAN CITY-More modern vehicles to traverse the V and G areas after a launching ceremony was held at Plaza Rizal, January 26, 2023.

Passengers from V and G subdivision are now assured of a more comfortable trip as five units of modern jeepneys start to ply in the said area. Among those present during the blessing and inauguration was LTFRB Regional Director Gualberto Gualberto. (TCIO)

Tacloban V and G Calanipawan Drivers and Operators Transport Cooperative (TAVAGCADOTCO) had been awarded provisional authority for their initial 5 out of 10 Class 1 units of MITSUBISHI jeepneys that will be plying the V&G Phase 2 & 3 as well as Phase 3 & 6 routes.

As way of promoting the PUV Modernization Program (PUVMP), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Regional Director Gualberto Gualberto called other transport cooperatives or corporations to join the government in ensuring that safe and convenient transport services are provided in the region.

The director also lauded the support given by Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez in rolling out the program in the city considering the increasing population and being the gateway of the region it is necessary to provide the transacting public with the mobility that is hassle-free.
The new units that were launched are air-conditioned, equipped with CCTV for the commuters’ safety and are also environmentally sustainable as these lessen the pollution brought by the worn-out and smoke-belching vehicles.

Restituta Ilagan, head of Land Bank of the Philippines, Leyte Landing Center; TAVAGCADOTCO chairman Wilson Bayang; Caresse Redubla of Mitsubishi Tacloban and a representative from the Office of Transportation Cooperative were in attendance during the launching.
