ORMOC CITY-The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) held a culmination program for 16 on-the-job trainees from Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC), marking the end of their 240-hour OJT, on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Over the course of their training, the trainees rotated through the district’s four technical sections — Planning and Design, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Construction — and gained hands-on exposure to the office’s engineering work.

OIC-ADE Jonathan A. Santiago opened the program with a welcome message. EVSU-OC faculty members also joined the event, including Engr. Phoebe Lanzaderas, who thanked the district for continuing to welcome and train aspiring engineers. Three trainees shared their experiences from the OJT, and the technical section chiefs offered words of encouragement. The trainees then received their certificates of completion before OIC-DE Peter Scheler V. Soco delivered the closing remarks. (PR)
