CARIGARA, LEYTE — In celebration of its 14th anniversary, YouthPLUS Medical Group brought its commitment to accessible healthcare closer to the community through a large-scale medical mission held on October 4, 2026, in Carigara, Leyte.
The anniversary medical mission served approximately 500 beneficiaries, providing free healthcare services to residents who may otherwise face challenges accessing specialized medical care.
The activity was conducted in partnership with the Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban and the Local Government Unit of Carigara, led by Mayor Ong, whose support helped make the community outreach possible.
Bringing Medical Care Closer to the Community
As part of YouthPLUS Medical Group’s anniversary celebration, the medical mission offered a range of free healthcare services, including consultations in Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, and Pediatrics.
Residents also benefited from fasting blood sugar (FBS) testing, minor surgical procedures, and circumcision services, allowing patients to receive essential medical attention without the need to travel to larger cities or shoulder the usual cost of consultations and procedures.
For YouthPLUS, the activity was not simply an anniversary celebration. It was a reflection of the organization’s long-standing mission to make quality healthcare more accessible to Filipino communities.
14 Years of Healthcare and Service
For 14 years, YouthPLUS Medical Group has continued to expand its healthcare services while maintaining its commitment to patient care and community service.
The Carigara medical mission became a meaningful part of this milestone—celebrating 14 years not only through achievements in healthcare, but by giving back to the communities that YouthPLUS serves.
Through its team of physicians, healthcare professionals, staff, and volunteers, YouthPLUS was able to bring several medical specialties and essential services together in one community-based activity.
A Stronger Community Through Collaboration
The success of the medical mission was made possible through the collaboration of YouthPLUS Medical Group, the Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban, and the LGU of Carigara.
The Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban contributed volunteers and organizational support, helping coordinate the activity and ensure the smooth delivery of services.
Meanwhile, the LGU of Carigara played an important role in reaching and coordinating residents who could benefit from the medical mission.
Adding to the spirit of the celebration, YouthPLUS ambassadors and community partners also joined the activity, helping welcome and entertain beneficiaries and creating a warm and engaging environment throughout the event.
More Than an Anniversary
For YouthPLUS Medical Group, its 14th anniversary is not only a celebration of how far the organization has come. It is also a reminder of why it began—to provide meaningful healthcare and make a difference in people’s lives.
Serving 500 beneficiaries in Carigara was a fitting way to mark the milestone: by turning an anniversary celebration into an opportunity to serve.
The medical mission demonstrated what can happen when healthcare professionals, civic organizations, local government, volunteers, and the community come together with one purpose.
As YouthPLUS Medical Group enters another year of service, the organization remains committed to bringing healthcare closer to more communities—one patient, one family, and one community at a time.
Fourteen years of YouthPLUS. Fourteen years of healthcare, service, and a continuing commitment to make a difference. (PR)
