ORMOC CITY– Authorities arrested the top 1 provincial most wanted person for rape during a joint law enforcement operation in Barangay Poblacion, Tabango, Leyte, at about 9:06 a.m. on July 14, 2026.
The arrested suspect was identified as Armando Arrogancia, 36, single, a laborer, and a resident of said village with the operation carried out by personnel of the Tabango Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Ormoc City, and the 2nd Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company (LPMFC) by virtue of a warrant of arrest dated July 9, 2026 issued by Judge Dexter Aguilar, presiding officer of the Regional Trial Court- Branch 17 in Palompon, also in Leyte.
Arrogancia is facing charges for rape, four counts of rape by sexual assault, and acts of lasciviousness.
The court recommended no bail for the rape charge, while bail was set at P10,000 for the four counts of rape by sexual assault and P10,000 for the charge of acts of lasciviousness.
The accused is now under custody of the Tabango Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
