Tacloban City— In an effort to ensure precision and accuracy in laboratory testing procedures, the Tacloban City District Engineering Office, in collaboration with the Laboratory Technician and Chemist from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VIII Calibration team, undertook a comprehensive Calibration of Laboratory Testing Equipment/Apparatus last week.

The calibration team meticulously inspected and calibrated vital equipment and apparatus crucial for laboratory testing purposes. Thermostatic Controlled Lab Oven, which maintains precise temperatures for tasks like drying and sterilization. Also calibrated was the Triple Beam Balance, used for accurate mass measurements in various industries, and the Flexural Machine, essential for assessing the strength of construction materials like concrete.

“We put high importance on precision in engineering and construction projects, where even the slightest deviation in measurements could have significant repercussions. Through regular calibration, potential errors are mitigated.” Chief of Quality Assurance Section, Reynaldo De Guzman said in a statement.

Calibration is a critical process in the maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring that measurements are consistent, reliable, and adhere to established standards. By conducting this calibration exercise, the Tacloban City District Engineering Office reaffirms its commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and accuracy in its testing procedures.(PR)
