ORMOC CITY-At least 19 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 9.9 grams with a commercial value of P67,320 were recovered from a newly identified drug peddler during a buy-bust operation in Isabel, Leyte.

The suspect was identified as Reymen Ballera, 42, unemployed, and a resident of Brgy. Libertad where the sting operation took place at about 8:15 pm.

He was said to be a streel level individual in the drug watch list of the Isabel police station.
Recovered from the possession of the suspect was one sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P1,000.

However, during the conduct of a body search done in the presence of an elected barangay official and a representative from the local media, the searching cop recovered 18 more sachets containing the same white crystalline substance, wherein two of which are medium sizes still suspected to be shabu.

Charges of violation of sections 5 (selling illegal drugs) & 11 (possession of illegal drugs) of Article II of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002,were filed at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the locked-up cell of the of the Isabel municipal police station.
