In Northern Samar

TACLOBAN CITY – The provincial government of Northern Samar “Kauswagan Caravan” will be visiting another island municipality.

This April 26, the island town of San Vicente will be the venue of the caravan to be participated by different provincial and national offices based in the province which will provide their respective services and programs.

The caravan targets the residents of six San Vicente villages, namely, Tarnate, Mongolbongol, Maragat, Sangputan, Sila, Punta, and Destacado, where the caravan will be held.

Over 2,000 from these barangays are targeted to benefit the caravan, a flagship program of Governor Edwin Ogchuan aimed to bring government services closer to the people residing in hard-reach barangays.

Residents from these villages will receive medical services, legal consultations, registrations for birth and marriage, national IDs, and other basic services.

Moreover, beneficiary communities will have access to veterinary and agriculture services and opportunities for fire safety and first aid training, among others.

San Vicente is a 6th class municipality in Northern Samar province and composed of seven islands and can be reached by three to four-hour motorboat ride. The town is famous for its pink sand beach located in the island village of Sila. (ROEL T. AMAZONA)
