
TACLOBAN CITY — The Philippine National Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) gathered police leaders, partners, and advisory groups for the 2026 Regional Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (RAGPTD) Summit, highlighting ongoing reforms and recognizing outstanding performance across Eastern Visayas.
The summit, along with the Police Strategy Management Unit (PSMU) Family Conference, was held on April 22 at the PRO-8 Multi-Purpose Hall under the leadership of Regional Director Jason Capoy.
Anchored on the theme “Partners in Transformation, Champions of Public Trust,” the event aimed to strengthen collaboration, build organizational resilience, and sustain gains in the police transformation program. It was attended by key stakeholders, including Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Director Arnel Agabe who served as guest of honor and speaker.
A series of lectures formed part of the summit, focusing on institutionalization processes, scorecard management, and community and service-oriented policing, reinforcing the PNP’s goal of enhancing professionalism and accountability.
The event also recognized top-performing units and individuals. Among the highlights, the Samar Police Provincial Office was named Best PSMU at the provincial level, while Palompon Municipal Police Station topped the municipal category. Isabel MPS received a special award for best practice.
Awards were also given to outstanding police units, advisory groups, and advisory chairpersons across provincial and municipal categories, reflecting their contributions to operational efficiency and community engagement.
PRO-8 said the summit underscores its continued commitment to institutional reform and to delivering responsive and service-oriented policing in the region through strengthened partnerships and performance-driven initiatives.
