LAOANG, Northern Samar– The Department of Public Works and Highways – Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-NSSDEO) gave honor to the Our Lady of Lourdes on February 11, 2025, in a solemn and meaningful celebration held at Brgy. Burabud, Laoang, Northern Samar.
The event brought together the local community and NSSDEO employees in a spirit of faith and unity.
The highlight of the celebration was a mass led by Rev. Father Ronel M. Vilan, who delivered a heartfelt homily reflecting on the significance of the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Father Vilan’s homily focused on themes of healing, hope, and the importance of faith in everyday life, drawing from the miracle of Lourdes.
Key personnel of DPWH – NSSDEO, including OIC-District Engineer Atty. Arthur Sabong, Finance Section Chief, Ms. Michelle G. Suan, and Maintenance Section Chief Engr. Nicanor L. Mejos, Jr., attended the mass. Their presence displayed the importance of the occasion and the office’s continued commitment to nurturing both professional and spiritual well-being within the department.
In addition to the NSSDEO key officials, employees attended the mass as well as the residents of Brgy. Burabud, creating a sense of community and shared faith. The event was a reminder of the unity between the office and the local population, as well as the role of the religious activities in bringing people together in times of both celebration and reflection.
The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes holds a special place in the hearts of many, particularly in communities that seek spiritual solace and healing. For those present, the mass provided an opportunity not only to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes but also to come together in prayer for health, peace, and guidance in the year ahead.
The NSSDEO’s celebration of this religious occasion was a tribute to the department’s values of service and faith, reinforcing the strong bonds between the office, its employees, and the community they serve.
