TACLOBAN CITY — The Northern Samar government has begun two key survey initiatives to improve economic infrastructure and basic services for local communities.

The Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (PEDIPO) recently conducted a construction survey for a proposed Modular Cold Storage Facility and Multi-Commodity Distribution System in Barangay Rawis, Laoang.

The facility aims to strengthen the province’s cold chain system, reduce post-harvest losses, and help farmers, vendors, and fisherfolk maintain product quality while expanding market access.

PEDIPO also carried out a Household Survey on Potable Water Supply and Distribution in the municipalities of Palapag and Laoang. The survey collected data on water accessibility, reliability, and distribution challenges to guide future infrastructure planning and policy decisions.

Officials said the two initiatives reflect a community-focused, evidence-based approach to development, combining improved infrastructure with active stakeholder participation to support sustainable economic growth in Northern Samar.
