ORMOC CITY-A murder suspect tagged as the most wanted person here in the province was apprehended by the local police at about 7 am on Jan. 7 in Barangay Bulod, Barugo town, Leyte.

Barugo chief of police Capt. Alexander Alfonzo said that Leonardo Corton, 53, was arrested in Brgy. Canhandungan, Jaro town, also in Leyte.

The arrest of the accused was by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Catherine Jane Lopez Vanilla of the Regional Trial Court based in Tacloban City issued on December 29 last year who did not recommend bail against him.

Corton was the main suspect in the killing of Joe Arvin Colarte who was said to have been shot to death by the suspect on Nov. 2 last year in Brgy. Antipolo, also in Jaro town.
Corton went into hiding in Brgy. Bulod where he worked as a farmer.
