TACLOBAN CITY — Accessing key transport services has become more convenient for residents as the Land Transportation Office (LTO) opened its first mall-based extension office in Eastern Visayas on April 14, 2026, at the Lingkod Pinoy Center inside Robinsons Tacloban.

The satellite office marks a step toward decentralizing government services by situating them in high-traffic public spaces, allowing clients to complete transactions in a more accessible and comfortable setting.

Initially, the facility offers renewal of motor vehicle registration and processing of transactions for both government and for-hire vehicles. Additional services, including student permit applications and driver’s license renewal, are expected to be introduced in the coming months.

City Mayor Alfred Romualdez welcomed the initiative, noting that integrating government services within commercial centers enhances efficiency and convenience for constituents while supporting increased foot traffic that may benefit local businesses.

Present during the inauguration were LTO officials lead by its Regional Director Ledwino Mariola.
