TACLOBAN CITY — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) has intensified its field inspections to ensure that infrastructure projects in the district meet government standards for quality, safety and timely completion.

District Engineer Engr. Leandro Visorde led the inspectorate team during a series of site inspections on Sept. 16, 2026, covering both ongoing and completed projects in the Leyte 2nd District.

The team assessed the physical accomplishments of the projects and checked the quality of workmanship and compliance with approved plans and specifications.

Inspectors also examined safety measures at project sites and discussed the progress, implementation schedules and expected completion dates with project engineers and contractors.

Visorde emphasized the office’s commitment to ensuring that infrastructure projects are completed according to government standards and provide lasting benefits to communities in the district.

The regular inspections are part of the DPWH Leyte 2nd DEO’s monitoring efforts to ensure that projects are properly implemented and delivered on schedule.

The office said the inspections also help identify concerns during project implementation and ensure that necessary measures are undertaken to address them.

Through regular field monitoring, the DPWH Leyte 2nd DEO aims to ensure that public infrastructure projects are durable, safe and responsive to the needs of communities in the district.
