BOBON, Northern Samar-Mayor Rene Celespara of this town enjoins the public particularly, municipal and village officials, employees and the academe to participate on their forthcoming 151st founding anniversary on August 4, 2014.

Mayor Celespara said that though this year’s celebration will be simple, several activities have been lined up involving youths, the elderly, students as well as officials and employees.“The celebration does not only contribute to the general well-being of the town’s various infrastructure, social services and other developmental projects, it also poses a more involved awareness among us public servants and further urges us to achieve our expectation for a more peaceful and developed town,” he said during a meeting. “Samtang akon gin-aaghat an ak mga igkasi Bobonanon ug mga opisyales–ky sa bahin san lokal nga pan-gobyernohan, gin-gagarintiya ko nga igpaabut sa aton mga igkasi-Bobonanon an aton padayon nga panalimbasug nga mahipa-angbet an nano man nga aton makuha san mga ahensya san gobyerno nga prohektos para san padayon nga pagmantiner san kamurayawan san bungto,” the mayor added.

This year’s founding anniversary has a theme “Kamurayaw ug Pagkasarayo, Tangkud ug Makusog nga Liberato, Dalan san Progreso”. Among the activities are an open basketball tournament which started on July 13 with a prize of P50,000 for the champions. However, the kick-off ceremony leading to the celebration will be held on July 31, coinciding with the observation of the nutrition month.

As part of the celebration on August 4, the foundation date, a thanksgiving mass at 6am will be held to be followed by a colorful parade to be participated by high school and elementary students; street dancing competition; Tuklas Talento- hiphop and vocal solo competition; agro-industrial fair showcasing Bobon’s agri-products and native specialties with a cultural and variety show to cap the 4-day celebration.
