FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – A total of 508 recruits who are part of Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) Class 797-2025 began their sixteen-week pre-entry Basic Military Training (BMT) in an opening ceremony at the Makabulos Grandstand, Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on May 2, 2025. This is the first batch for this year’s quota of 2,257 candidate soldiers.

“Today marks a pivotal moment in your lives. Hindi lang ito basta pagsisimula ng isang training; You are beginning a journey of transformation, from a civilian to a regimented life of a soldier, from individuals to comrades-in-arms, from dreamers to defenders of the land,” Initial Military Training Center Commander Col. Enriquito R. Deocadez, the guest of honor and speaker, told the new recruits.

The Army leadership embarks on a purposive recruitment strategy to further institutionalize and professionalize the selection of recruits. The recruits are selected under the Centralized Recruitment System and One Factory Training Program, ensuring that candidates meet the Army’s standards. Selecting the most qualified applicants can positively impact the organization as it gears towards a world-class, multi-mission and cross-domain capable Army. (PR)
