ORMOC CITY-The Department of Public Works and Highways Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) completes the Construction of the Juaton Flood Control Structure in Barangay Juaton, Ormoc City.
The project started in May 2025 and was finished in December 2025 funded under the General Appropriations Act 2025 in the amount of Php 48,900,000.00. Extending 342 linear meters, the concrete slope protection lines a long stretch of the river, following its natural bends from the highway down to the lower portion of the community.
The structure stands as a continuous safeguard against erosion and flooding in a section long exposed to rising waters. With the project now in place, Ormoc City gains added protection as it continues to confront the challenges of intermittent weather conditions and work toward a safer and more climate-resilient future.
