TACLOBAN CITY – Police authorities in Babatngon, Leyte have arrested two individuals who were found to be in possession of illegal drugs estimated to be worth P1 million.
The Babatngon police arrested the suspects, Reynante Ordoña, 53, and Marlito Dollete, 49, both residents of Barangay Guindaponan, Carigara, also in Leyte, in a checkpoint in Barangay District III on October 27.

Seized from them were suspected shabu weighing 150 grams estimated to be worth P1 million.

PLt. Jose Bayoma, police chief of the town, said that the two were stopped at the checkpoint for the routinary inspection and discovered that the two have no driver’s license and the motorcycle itself was no longer in its original design.

He added that they also observed that Ordoña was hiding something and when they checked it, they saw three sachets containing the prohibited items.

The arrested suspects were brought to Babatngon municipal station and were charged for possession and selling of prohibited drugs.

Bayoma said that the arrest of the two suspects were a big accomplishments on their fight against illegal drugs saying that with the seizure of the alleged prohibited drugs, many individuals have been saved.
