ORMOC CITY– A 59-year-old retired government employee was found dead in his home in Barangay Tunga-tunga,Maasin City on the morning of March 27, 2026, in what authorities believe was an accidental fall.

The victim, identified only as Peter, was discovered around 6:30 a.m. by his caretaker, Rose, who went to deliver food and found him lying supine on the floor. The incident was later reported to the Maasin City Police Station by the victim’s brother, John, at approximately 9:15 a.m.

According to the caretaker, Peter was last seen alive at about 7:00 p.m. on March 26, when he requested a massage. Police officers and the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) team responded immediately to the scene to verify the report and process the area.

A post-mortem examination conducted by a physician from the City Health Unit revealed that Peter’s death was due to hemorrhagic shock secondary to severe head trauma, consistent with injuries from an accidental fall. Authorities confirmed there were no signs of foul play at the scene.
