TACLOBAN CITY– A suspected high-value drug personality was arrested and approximately P8.9 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in a buy-bust operation late Thursday night, April 9, 2026, in San Jose, Dulag, Leyte.
The suspect was identified only by the authorities as alias “Dodong,” 45, unemployed, married, and a resident of Parañaque City.
He was tagged as Rank No. 3 in the regional target list prior to his arrest.
The operation was conducted at around 11:35 p.m. by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 8 (PDEA-8), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other law enforcement units like the Dulag police office.
Authorities said the buy-bust resulted in the confiscation of multiple sachets and containers of suspected shabu, including the subject of sale and items in the suspect’s possession.
Also recovered were marked buy-bust money, boodle money, cash, identification cards, a backpack, an eco bag, and a cellphone.
All evidence was inventoried and marked at the scene in the presence of required witnesses, in compliance with legal procedures.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act were filed against the suspect who is now detained temporarily at the lock-up facility of Dulag police station.
